Abhansh Kakkar is an International first-year student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Prince Edward Island. Abhansh Kakkar grew up in India and moved to Charlottetown in December 2022. He has always been fascinated by the world around us, especially how we all seem to have a bigger impact on the world around us than we can ever realize, and as such chose to pursue a degree that would help satiate his curiosity. As a future physicist, he wishes to comprehend this world and try to understand how it all works. It is an ambitious aspiration, but it is one he hopes to pursue. He has attended a few online workshops and completed a couple of short online courses about Astronomy and General Relativity during the Lockdown year of 2020-21, in order to progress his understanding. Choosing science, especially Physics, as a career may seem a little out of place in today’s rapid world, but as his mentor put it, “the goal is the pursuit of knowledge, and to utilize that knowledge to develop better technologies, for a better tomorrow.” Abhansh Kakkar hopes to make a positive impact from his work and eagerly looks forward to any opportunities that life may bring about on his way.
