Climate Smart Lab Members at CWRA 2024, Saskatoon.

The members of the Climate Smart Lab, Dr. Xander Wang, Dr. Quan Dau, Farhan Aziz, Rana Ali Nawaz, Tianze Pang, and Muhammad Qasim Mahmood, attended the 77th Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) National Conference, which was held in Saskatoon from 17-19 June 2024.

Dr. Xander Wang presented his research on Real-Time Peak Flow Prediction Based on Signal Matching and Pluvial Flood Mapping for Prince Edward Island

Dr. Quan Dau presented his research on Pluvial Flood Mapping for Coastal Cities and Municipalities in Prince Edward Island
Farhan Aziz presented his research on Assessing the Basement Flooding Risk for the City of Charlottetown under the Impacts of Climate Change

Rana Ali Nawaz presented his research on Seasonal Weather Predictions using Stepwise Cluster Analysis Approach for Prince Edward Island

Muhammad Qasim Mahmood presented his research on Application of Multivariate Time Series Modelling for Sustainable Groundwater Abstraction
Tianze Pang presented his research on Coastal Flood and Climate Change: Impacts and Responses.

It is remarkable that Tianze Pang won one of the Canadian Society for Hydrological Sciences (CSHS) Student Paper Awards. There are two student awardees of the CSHS Student Paper Awards selected from all the student papers and presentations on this year’s conference. These two awards are set to commemorate the contributions of the former University of Saskatchewan Professor Bill Stolte and the former University of Waterloo Professor Eric D. (‘Ric’) Soulis. The prizes for the top 2 best student papers and presentations are valued at $1500-1000. Congratulations, Tianze!
