Ouranos, in partnership with the World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP) and the Government of Canada, hosted the 7th Adaptation Future 2023 conference in Montreal on October 02 – 06, 2023. The conference brought together more than 2000 researchers, policymakers, practitioners, industry representatives, and communicators from over 120 countries to present their work and experience in climate adaptation at the global, national, and local levels and build networks. Nearly 180 in-person and hybrid sessions focused on various climate adaptation and resilience topics around the world.
Associate Professor Dr. Xander Wang and Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Aminur Shah and Dr. Quan Dau from Climate Smart Lab co-chaired one flood mitigation and adaptation session at the conference. Several researchers presented case studies on flood risk assessment and adaptation technologies in different countries. The session attracted a large number of audiences.
