Gleniese is a creative scientist with a background in climate change, machine learning, and astrophysics. Originally from The Bahamas, she has been a consultant on projects such as The Technology Needs Assessment project to identify and analyse priority adaptation technology gaps and needs in The Bahamas for both the educational and meteorological sectors. She has also served as a climate change adaptation consultant for the United Nations Development Programme to support The Bahamas’ Biennial Update Report and Third National Communication reports. She has a master’s degree in Astronomy(Astrophysics) from the University of Science and Technology of China and recently graduated from the University of Reading with a second master’s degree in Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence. Currently, she is a PhD student in Environmental Sciences at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), using machine learning to research the influence of climate change on hurricane dynamics and coastal impacts.
