“Vanessa completed her Master’s Degree in Geology at Unisinos (Brazil), specializing in Stratigraphic Modelling. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Science at UPEI, focusing on the climate variables that impact cancer rates in Canada. She worked for twelve years as a researcher in Geostatistical Modelling, Sedimentology and Stratigraphy. Her last project involved developing software for stratigraphic modelling focused on petroleum systems. She is interested in computer programming and teaching; she also has a specialization in Environmental Education. Vanessa has always been engaged in the environmental area, but this interest increased after she had her children and started thinking about the future she wants for them.”
